Quark docs
Include all relevant fonts, scans, logo
etc. Ensure the document is setup to trim size of the publication,
make sure there is 4mm or more bleed on the page.
Illustrator EPS
Any embedded images must be CMYK, fonts should be outlined,
and illustrator 7 onwards.
Freehand EPS
Any embedded images must be CMYK, fonts should be outlined.
Tiff images
All need to be grayscale, bitmap or CMYK. LZW compression optional,
Macintosh encoding.
EPS images
All need to be grayscale, Bitmap, or CMYK, preview Macintosh 8bit,
DCS off, Jpeg encoding Max quality (delete any unwanted paths from
EPS's).
JPEG images
All JPEG images need to be CMYK. These files will be resaved as
EPS or TIFF.
PDF
Embed all fonts, All scans must be CMYK and 300 dpi or higher, Compatibility
Acrobat 3 or 4. Res 2400, Compression Max quality, Plus use CCITT
group 4 compression.
Media
We can accept files on ZIP, CD, ISDN,
NOTE: Please ensure that all ads are
made to the correct size If the Ad is supplied to large or to small
we can enlarge or reduce to fit (quality may be affected if a big
enlargement is made).

As a regular advertiser in Charterhouse Communications publications,
you must be aware of the growing changes in print production.
As of
the JULY 2001 issues, Charterhouse Communications are going direct
to plate.
This process eliminates the film process that has been in use for
several decades.
This is good news for advertisers, as you can now simply supply
us with digital files. No more costly film separations saving you
time and money.
Our preferred digital files are the industry standard PDF format
- which will be very familiar to your designers and agencies (as
above).
Other digital files can be converted by us into PDF if necessary
(as above). There may be occasions when you find you must send us
film separations and we will scan them directly - a handling charge
of £100 will be made for this.
No charge will be made for electronically received files via ISDN,
Zip,CD etc.

Copy date is four weeks preceding first day of month of publication
cancellation dates:
Cover: 12 weeks prior copy date
Colour: 8 weeks prior to copy date
Mono: 6 weeks prior to copy date
